Troops at Indra Chowk, Kathmandu, Nepal (2005)
I arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on February 10th, Tibetan New Year Day and ten day's after the King of Nepal's declaration of Emergency. I was ticketed to have arrived a week earlier, but under the state of Emergency, flights in and out of the country were suspended, phone lines cut, dissidents arrested, Parliament dissolved, and the press shut down. By the 10th of February the city of Kathmandu was trying to get back to normal as some of the restrictions imposed under Emergency were lifted.
